What is Sports Mode and how to use it?

The KINVENT app is designed for health professionals and sports professionals, whose needs can be quite different:

  • Health professionals typically work with patients recovering from injuries.

  • Sports professionals usually work with athletes or groups of athletes.

To adapt to these different contexts, we created Sports Mode. Each practitioner can now choose the interface that best fits their work. The KINVENT app offers two modes:

  • Physio Mode
  • Sports Mode

 

How Modes Work

Each practitioner's profile is configured individually. The app automatically switches to the correct mode based on the selected profile:

  • Sports Mode → The app turns orange, patients become athletes, and assessment images show athletes performing the tests.
  • Physio Mode → The app remains blue, patients are labeled as such, and assessment visuals reflect clinical rehabilitation.

 

How to Select Sports Mode for a Practitioner

  1. From the Home screen, tap Account (bottom right).
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Scroll to the section KINVENT Mode.
  4. For each practitioner’s profile, use the toggle to switch between Physio and Sports Mode.
  5. The first time you activate Sports Mode, a wizard will guide you through the feature.
  6. When opening the app, simply select the practitioner’s profile — the interface will adjust automatically according to the saved settings.

Creating Patient vs. Athlete Profiles

Along with Sports Mode, practitioners must now specify whether each participant is a patient or an athlete.

  • Patient profiles → Blue ring around the icon.
  • Athlete profiles → Orange ring around the icon.

Steps to Create or Edit a Participant Profile:

  1. In the Patient List, create a new participant or edit an existing one.
  2. At the top of the window, use the toggle to choose between Patient or Athlete.
  3. Fill in the participant’s information.
  4. If you select Athlete, you’ll also be asked to choose their sport(s).
  5. Tap Complete to save the profile.
